Effective date: October 22, 2026
Last updated: October 22, 2026
1001705212, operating as Mea Flora Creative Studio ("Mea Flora," "we," "us," or "our"), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have.
We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other applicable Canadian privacy and anti-spam laws.

The short version

This summary is for convenience and readability. The full policy below controls if there is any conflict.

  • What we collect. Your name and contact details, order and delivery information (including recipient details when you send flowers to someone), workshop and event details, payment confirmation (never your full card number), and basic website usage information.

  • Why we collect it. To fulfill your orders and subscriptions, deliver flowers, run workshops and events, provide customer service, and, only with your consent, send you marketing.

  • We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the business (like our website, payment, and delivery providers) and only as needed.

  • Marketing is opt-in. We email marketing only with your consent, and every marketing email has an easy unsubscribe link.

  • Payment data. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card number.

  • Your choices. You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your consent, or ask us to delete it (subject to legal limits).

  • Where it's stored. We use trusted service providers (including Wix) whose servers may be located outside Canada; while there, your information is subject to the laws of that country.

  • Wherever you're located. We're a Canadian business governed by PIPEDA. We extend the same core privacy rights to everyone, and if your region gives you extra rights, contact us and we'll honour what applies.

  • Contact. Questions or concerns? Reach our privacy contact at hello@meaflora.ca.

The full version

1. Scope

This policy applies to personal information we collect through our website, when you place an order or subscribe, when you book or attend a workshop or studio session, when you engage us for an event, and when you otherwise communicate with us.
"Personal information" means information about an identifiable individual.

2. What personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Identity and contact information - your name, email address, phone number, and billing/delivery address.

  • Order and delivery information - the items you order, delivery dates and instructions, gift messages, and, where you are sending flowers to someone else, the recipient's name, address, and contact details.

  • Subscription information - your subscription plan, schedule, and history.

  • Workshop and event information - bookings, attendee details, dietary or accessibility needs you choose to share, and event briefs.

  • Payment information - confirmation that a payment was made and limited transaction details. Full payment card numbers are processed by our payment provider and are not collected or stored by us.

  • Communications - messages you send us by email, phone, social media, or our website, and our records of those interactions.

Website and device information - collected automatically when you visit our website, such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and similar analytics information, through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 9).

3. How we collect it

We collect personal information:

  • Directly from you - when you order, subscribe, book, attend, enquire, or sign up for our mailing list;

  • Automatically - through our website and its analytics and cookie technologies; and

From senders about recipients - when someone orders flowers to be delivered to you, we receive the contact and delivery information needed to complete that delivery.

4. Why we use your personal information

We use personal information to:

  • process, fulfill, and deliver your orders and subscriptions;

  • arrange and run workshops, studio sessions, and events;

  • communicate with you about your orders, bookings, and enquiries, including delivery updates;

  • process payments and prevent fraud;

  • provide customer service and handle quality issues, refunds, or claims;

  • send you marketing communications where you have consented (see Section 6);

  • improve our website, products, and services; and

  • meet our legal, regulatory, accounting, and tax obligations.

We will not use your personal information for a new purpose that is incompatible with the above without your consent, unless permitted or required by law.

5. Consent

We collect, use, and disclose your personal information with your consent, which may be express or implied depending on the sensitivity of the information and the circumstances. For example, by placing an order you consent to our use of your information to fulfill it.
You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal and contractual limits, by contacting us (see Section 18). Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide certain products or services to you.

6. Marketing communications (anti-spam)

We send commercial electronic messages (such as marketing emails) only in accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). This means:

  • we send marketing emails only where you have given consent or where the law otherwise permits;

  • every marketing message identifies us and includes a working unsubscribe link; and

  • you can opt out of marketing at any time, and we will stop within the time required by law.

Our marketing emails are currently sent using our website platform's email tools (Wix). Opting out of marketing does not stop essential service messages, such as order confirmations and delivery updates.

7. How we share personal information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed, and only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate, including: Wix (our website host, online store, payment processing through Wix Payments, and email marketing platform); delivery couriers and partners (to complete deliveries, including our pickup partner location); and Interac and financial institutions (when you pay by Interac e-Transfer). All such providers are required to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.

  • Legal and regulatory authorities - where required or permitted by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property; and

  • A successor - if our business is sold or reorganized, in which case information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

Some service providers may store or process information outside Canada (see Section 10).

8. Information about gift recipients

When you order flowers for someone else, you provide us with that person's information so we can deliver the order. We use it only for that delivery and related communication. If you are a recipient and wish to know how your information was provided or used, contact us (see Section 18).

9. Cookies and website analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies (provided through our website platform, Wix) to operate the site, remember your preferences, keep your cart working, and understand how the site is used. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work properly without them. Where required, we will request your consent for non-essential cookies through a cookie banner.

10. Where your information is stored

We rely on trusted service providers, including Wix, whose servers may be located in the United States or other countries outside Canada. When personal information is stored or processed in another country, it may be accessible to the courts, law enforcement, and authorities of that country under their laws. We take reasonable steps to ensure our providers protect your information to a comparable standard.

11. International customers

Mea Flora is a Canadian business, and we handle personal information in accordance with PIPEDA. Our services are offered within Toronto and the surrounding Greater Toronto Area, and we do not target customers outside Canada.

If you place an order or otherwise deal with us from outside Canada (for example, from the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, or elsewhere), your personal information is processed in Canada and may be stored by our service providers as described in Section 10.

We extend the core privacy rights described in this policy - including access, correction, withdrawal of consent, and deletion - to all customers, regardless of where they are located. If you live in a region whose laws give you additional privacy rights, please contact our privacy contact (see Section 18), and we will honour the rights that apply to you.

12. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, and as required for our legal, tax, accounting, and business records. When it is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

13. How we protect it

We use reasonable physical, organizational, and technological safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, appropriate to its sensitivity. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit access to those who need it.

14. Your rights and choices

Subject to applicable law, you may:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;

  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;

  • Withdraw consent to our use of your information (subject to legal/contractual limits);

  • Unsubscribe from marketing at any time; and

  • Request deletion of your information, where we are not required to keep it.

To exercise any of these, contact our privacy contact (see Section 18). We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will respond within the timeframes required by law.

15. Children

Our products and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us information without consent, please contact us so we can address it.

16. Third-party links

Our website or communications may link to third-party sites or services (for example, social media). We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their policies.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make a material change, we will post the updated policy with a new "last updated" date and, where reasonable, provide notice. Your continued use of our website or services after an update means you accept the updated policy.
