Terms of Service
Effective date: October 22, 2026
Last updated: October 22, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and 1001705212, operating as Mea Flora Creative Studio ("Mea Flora," "we," "us," or "our"), a registered business in Ontario, Canada, with its principal place of business in Toronto, Ontario.
They govern your use of our website, your purchase of our products and services, and your participation in our workshops and studio sessions.
The short version
This summary is provided for convenience and readability. It is not a substitute for the full Terms below, which control if there is any conflict.
-
What we offer. Floral design, flower arrangements, bouquets, flower subscriptions, flowers for events, floral and botanical décor, floral and art workshops.
-
Where we operate. We serve Toronto and the GTA only and don't deliver outside the Greater Toronto Area. Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD); if you're paying from abroad, your bank handles the currency conversion.
-
Fresh flowers are perishable. Because of this, we generally do not offer refunds once flowers have been delivered or picked up. If there's a genuine quality problem, tell us within 24 hours with a photo and we'll make it right.
-
Substitutions happen. Seasonal availability means we may swap individual stems, colours, or vessels for items of equal or greater value, keeping the same overall look, size, and feel.
-
Cancellations. You can cancel and get your deposit back if you cancel at least 7 days before your delivery date, or before we've ordered the product for your order, whichever applies. Larger events and custom orders have their own separate contract with their own terms.
-
Subscriptions. You can cancel any time; cancellation takes effect from your next cycle. We don't refund a cycle that's already been fulfilled. We'll always give you notice before any price change.
-
Workshops. Cancel 7+ days ahead for a full refund. Workshop participants follow basic safety and conduct rules.
-
Payments. We accept payment online through Wix Payments, in person, and by Interac e-Transfer. We never see or store your full card number; our payment processor handles that.
-
Your data. How we handle your personal information is covered in our separate Privacy Policy.
-
Your reviews are yours. Nothing here stops you from honestly reviewing us anywhere you like.
-
Disputes. These Terms are governed by Ontario law, and you keep your full right to bring a claim in the Ontario courts. We do not force you into arbitration.
-
Your legal rights stay intact. Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any rights you have under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, the Sale of Goods Act, or other applicable law.
The full version
1. About these Terms
By placing an order, booking a workshop or otherwise using our website or services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not place an order or use our services.
If you are placing an order on behalf of a business or organization, you confirm you have authority to bind that entity, and "you" refers to both you and that entity.
You must be at least the age of majority in Ontario (18) to enter into a contract with us. We do not knowingly sell products or services to minors without the involvement of a parent or guardian.
2. What we offer
Mea Flora provides:
-
Floral arrangements - bouquets, arrangements, wreaths and gifts, made to order;
-
Flower subscriptions - recurring floral deliveries (see Section 9);
-
Flowers for events - including weddings, corporate functions, and private events (see Section 10);
-
Workshops - floral, art, and related workshops; and
-
General art creations – drawings, paintings, wood burning, and paper sculptures
Product photographs on our website are representative examples. Because flowers are a natural product, and we work with seasonal materials, and reserving the right to creative freedom, the item you receive may vary in appearance (see Section 5, Substitutions).
3. Pricing, taxes, and fees
All prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are for the product or service only. Where applicable, additional charges - including delivery fees, service or handling fees - are calculated and shown at checkout before you confirm payment. At present, we do not collect taxes (HST).
We make every effort to ensure prices are accurate. If a pricing error is discovered after you order, we will contact you to confirm whether you wish to proceed at the correct price or cancel for a full refund of any amount already paid.
4. Payment
We accept:
-
Online payment processed by Wix Payments (our website's payment provider);
-
In-person payment at our studio or at events; and
-
Interac e-Transfer.
We do not collect, see, or store your full payment card number. Card payments are processed securely by our payment provider, and Interac e-Transfers are handled through your own bank. Orders are confirmed once payment (or any required deposit) is received.
5. Orders, acceptance, and substitutions
Order acceptance. Your order is an offer to purchase. All orders are subject to our acceptance and to product availability. We may decline or cancel an order, in which case we will refund any amount you have paid for that order.
Accurate information. You are responsible for providing complete and accurate order details, including the correct recipient’s name, delivery address, contact information, and delivery date. We are not responsible for failed or delayed delivery caused by incorrect or incomplete information, and re-delivery may incur an additional fee.
Substitutions. Flowers are seasonal and availability varies. To deliver a fresh, timely arrangement, we reserve the right to substitute individual flowers, stems, colours, foliage, or vessels with items of equal or greater value, while maintaining the overall look, size, style, and feel of the arrangement. In single-variety arrangements (for example, all roses), we prioritize the flower type and may substitute colour. If you need an exact, no-substitution arrangement, please contact us before ordering so we can confirm availability.
6. Delivery
Delivery area.
We deliver within Toronto and surrounding areas of the Greater Toronto Area. Available delivery zones and fees are shown at checkout based on the delivery address.
Delivery timing. We aim to deliver within the requested date and any selected time window. Specific times are not guaranteed. Delivery may be delayed by weather, traffic, road closures, courier issues, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Recipient not available. If the recipient is unavailable, we (or our courier) may leave the order in a safe location, with a concierge or reception desk, or with a neighbour, where it is reasonable and safe to do so, and will notify you using the contact details provided. Where this is not possible, the order may be returned to us, and a re-delivery fee may apply.
Proof of delivery. Where possible, we may take a photo at the point of delivery as proof of delivery (except where the location restricts photography, such as hospitals or funeral homes).
After delivery. Once we deliver an order to the address provided (or leave it in a safe location as described above), responsibility for the flowers passes to the recipient. Flowers are perishable and require proper care; we are not responsible for deterioration caused by lack of care after delivery.
7. Pickup
Pickup is available at our partner location, Affect Coffee Co., 283 Roncesvalles Ave, Toronto, ON, M6R 2M3. Please bring your order number and check your order at the time of pickup. Once you (or a person picking up on your behalf) have collected and left with the order, responsibility for the flowers passes to you.
8. Cancellations and refunds
Fresh flowers are perishable. Because of the perishable nature of fresh flowers, we generally do not offer refunds on flower orders once they have been delivered or picked up. This does not affect your statutory rights (see Section 16).
Canceling an order. You may cancel an order and receive a refund of your deposit or payment if you cancel at least 7 days before the scheduled delivery or event date, or before we have ordered the product for your order, whichever applies to your order. Once we have specially ordered flowers or begun preparation, your order may no longer be refundable. Delivery fees are non-refundable once a delivery has been attempted.
Quality issues. Your satisfaction matters to us. If your order arrives with a genuine quality problem, the wrong items, or damage, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery or pickup, with a photo, and we will arrange a replacement, store credit, or other fair resolution. We may ask to inspect the product.
Larger events. Weddings, corporate functions, and larger events are governed by a separate written contract with their own cancellation, deposit, and refund terms, which take precedence over this Section for those orders (see Section 10).
9. Subscriptions
How subscriptions work. Flower subscriptions provide recurring deliveries on a monthly schedule selected at sign-up. Each cycle is billed in advance using your chosen payment method.
Cancelling. You may cancel your subscription at any time by emailing us at hello@meaflora.ca or using your Wix account dashboard. Cancellation takes effect from your next billing cycle. We do not refund a cycle that has already been billed and fulfilled. If you cancel before a cycle has been prepared or shipped, we will not charge you for that upcoming cycle.
Price changes. We will give you advance notice of any change to your subscription price before it takes effect, so you can decide whether to continue. Any change applies only to future cycles.
Missed deliveries. If a scheduled subscription delivery cannot be completed for reasons within our control, we will arrange a redelivery or credit.
10. Events and large orders
Weddings, corporate functions, large event florals, and similar orders are arranged under a separate written agreement that sets out the scope, pricing, timelines, deposit, and cancellation terms specific to your event. For these orders:
-
A non-refundable deposit is typically required to secure your date and reserve product and labour.
-
The specific terms of your event contract take precedence over these Terms wherever they differ.
-
Because these are business-to-business or custom commercial arrangements rather than standard consumer purchases, additional or different terms may apply, as set out in that contract.
11. Workshops and art studio
Booking and payment. Workshop bookings are confirmed once payment is received. Spaces are limited and may sell out.
Workshop cancellations and refunds. You may cancel a workshop booking and receive a full refund if you cancel at least 7 days before the workshop date. If we cancel or reschedule a workshop, you may choose a full refund or a transfer to another date.
Safety and conduct. Workshops and studio sessions involve tools and materials (for example, scissors, floral knives, wire, paint, and other supplies). You agree to follow our safety instructions and staff guidance, to use materials and equipment responsibly, and to behave respectfully toward staff and other participants. We may ask anyone behaving unsafely or disruptively to leave without a refund.
Participation at your own risk. Creative activities carry some inherent risk. You participate voluntarily and accept responsibility for using tools and materials with reasonable care. This does not limit any liability that cannot be limited by law (see Section 16).
Minors. Participants under the age of majority may attend only where the workshop is designated as suitable for minors, and may require a parent or guardian to register, attend, or provide consent, as we specify for that workshop.
Photography. We may take photos or video at workshops and events for our records and, with your consent, for marketing. If you do not wish to appear in marketing materials, let us know, and we will not use images that identify you.
Alcohol. Our workshops do not currently include the service of alcohol.
12. Care after delivery
Flowers are living products and need care. We include or can provide care guidance on request. Following care instructions (fresh water, trimming stems, keeping arrangements away from direct heat and sun) helps your flowers last. We are not responsible for the condition of flowers that have not been properly cared for after delivery or pickup.
13. Intellectual property
Our content. All content on our website and in our materials - including text, photographs, designs, logos, and the "Mea Flora" name and branding - is owned by us or our licensors and may not be copied or used without our permission, except as allowed by law.
Your content. If you send us images, text, or other materials (for example, an inspiration photo, an event brief, or a custom message), you keep ownership of them. You grant us a limited licence to use those materials only as needed to fulfill your order or booking.
Reviews and feedback. You are free to honestly review and share your experience with Mea Flora on any platform. Nothing in these Terms restricts your ability to publish a review or comment about us.
14. Acceptable use of our website
You agree not to use our website or services unlawfully, to interfere with their operation or security, to submit false or fraudulent orders, or to infringe anyone's rights. We may suspend or refuse service where we reasonably believe this section has been breached.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, and except as stated below, our total liability to you arising out of or relating to any order, booking, or use of our services is limited to the amount you paid for the product, booking, or service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mea Flora Creative Studio shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from our products or services.
We are not liable for delays or failures to perform caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, severe weather, power outages, transportation disruptions, supplier shortages, or government restrictions.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Where such circumstances prevent us from fulfilling an order, we will make reasonable efforts to notify the customer and arrange an appropriate alternative or remedy in accordance with these Terms and applicable law.
16. Your statutory rights are preserved
Nothing in these Terms removes, limits, or varies any mandatory right or remedy available to you under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (and, as it comes into force, the Consumer Protection Act, 2023), the Sale of Goods Act, or other applicable consumer protection legislation. If any part of these Terms conflicts with those rights, your statutory rights prevail.
17. Events beyond our control (force majeure)
We are not responsible for failure or delay in performing our obligations caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, natural events, supply-chain disruptions, courier failures, labour disruptions, utility or network outages, or government measures. Where such an event affects your order, we will contact you to arrange a redelivery, reschedule, or refund as appropriate.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time - for example, to reflect changes in our services or in the law. When we make a material change, we will post the updated Terms with a new "last updated" date and, where reasonable, give notice. Changes apply only going forward; the version of these Terms in effect when you placed your order or made your booking governs that transaction. Your continued use of our website or services after an update means you accept the updated Terms for future orders and bookings.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
If a dispute arises, we hope you'll contact us first so we can try to resolve it directly. You retain your full right to bring a claim in the courts of Ontario (including the Superior Court of Justice), and, if you are a consumer, your right to commence or join a class proceeding. We do not require you to give up court access or to resolve consumer disputes through mandatory arbitration.
(Separate event, wedding, or commercial contracts with business customers may contain their own dispute-resolution terms.)
20. Where we operate, currency, and international customers
We offer our products and services only within Toronto and the surrounding Greater Toronto Area, and we perform and deliver all orders in Ontario, Canada. We do not deliver or provide services outside Canada, and we do not market or direct our services to customers outside Canada.
You are welcome to place an order from outside Canada (for example, to send flowers to someone in Toronto). If you do:
-
All prices are charged in Canadian dollars (CAD). Your card issuer or bank sets any currency conversion, foreign-transaction fee, or similar charge, and you are responsible for it.
-
Your order is treated as made and performed in Ontario, and these Terms are governed by Ontario law as set out in Section 19.
-
You are responsible for complying with any laws that apply to you in your own location.
-
Nothing in this Section removes any mandatory consumer right you may have under the law of your home jurisdiction where that law applies to your purchase.
21. General
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with any order confirmation, subscription terms, or separate event contract, form the entire agreement between us regarding the relevant order or service.
